This beautiful long blue offering scarf, or Khata, has the eight Buddhist auspicious symbols as well as mantras woven into the fabric. In Tibetan Buddhism, it is traditional to present an offering scarf or khata as a sign of respectful greeting and also as an offering to lamas after an empowerment or teaching. In Tibetan culture, Khata are also used at many ceremonial occasions, including births, weddings, funerals, graduations, and arrival or departure of guests.
